Emotional Intelligence in Urban Smart Infrastructure Management: Importance and Implications

Abstract

The study explores the relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and citizen perceptions of Urban Smart Infrastructure Management. Using a sample of N=60 respondents, the research employed an exploratory factor analysis and correlation testing to assess whether EI influences how citizens evaluate smart city initiatives. The study revealed no statistically significant linear relationship between composite EI scores and perceptions of smart infrastructure outcomes. Exploratory Factor Analysis identified two meaningful underlying dimensions with acceptable preliminary construct validity i.e., EI & Trust Building and EI & Citizen Engagement.
